Mitch Paioff is an experienced model builder, project manager and trainer on IBM Cognos Planning software. Over the past eleven years, Mitch has successfully implemented IBM Cognos Planning systems for dozens of organizations in the US and Canada.

He has taught more than 70 Cognos classes using his self-developed training materials. Hundreds of students have successfully completed his accelerated, hands-on IBM Cognos Planning courses.

Mitch Paioff's Background

Prior to becoming an independent Cognos Planning consultant in 2001, Mitch worked for JD Edwards as a Senior Product Training Developer. In that position he developed training programs for JD Edwards' activity based costing product. He also taught classes in manufacturing accounting and product costing.

Before that, Mitch held management positions in the manufacturing, construction, and distribution industries. As a former cost accounting manager, controller, and chief financial officer, he developed annual budgets, rolling forecasts, long-term strategic plans, and cash management models.

Mitch received his BS in Accounting from San Jose State University and his MBA from the University of Redlands. He holds a California community college teaching credential. He is a Certified Management Accountant and has been a member of the Institute of Management Accountants since 1983.

Mitch, his wife Toby, and his son Joshua, reside in Littleton, Colorado.
